I have been using these products for years.
The most widely used acne products are benzoyl peroxide (BPO) and retinoids. They work well to clear up acne, but they come with some serious side effects. The reason most of us are on these products is to kill acne-causing bacteria. The best thing about BPO is that it can be used on any skin to be used on. It works by targeting the bacteria (and not the underlying skin) and making the acne go away. Retinoids, on the other hand, kill the bacteria on the skin, but leave the skin damaged. I like both. I was going to write a full review of each of these products, but my skin was already a little beat up from the work that I did in the past. So I'll just do a quick review of my impressions. BPO is the more popular of the two. It's a topical retinoid used on the back of the hand, and a lot of people swear by it. It has an almost creamy texture and can be used all over the face. It can be used as a moisturizer, a peeling agent, or a cream that is a moisturizer. I have no complaints with it. BPO is not perfect.
